Other platforms let you size up, drag the stop and take the trade that was never in the plan. monty will not.

The argument Why a chart with a broker button is not neutral.

In the moment, the trader is in a fight. The software makes it effortless to lose it. Size up. Drag the stop. Take the one that was never in the plan.

Everyone calls that the trader failing. Every platform is built to allow everything. The software allowed it.

monty takes a side. Fewer options, on purpose. It says this is how you trade, and does not offer the option of not following the plan.

Not a trading tool. Software for turning a beginner into a consistent trader.

Three things a chart with a broker button cannot do.

Each one needs the software to own the button.

Restrict.

Risk is one number: today's stop. Grade the trade A, B or C and the size, stop and target follow. A trade that does not fit is refused.

There is no size field. Exits are never blocked.

AEverything aligned80% of the day$720 · 2 lots

One dollar figure and three percentages. That is the whole risk settings page, and it is identical in practice and live.
Record.

You can move the stop. monty writes it down. Every move, every grade, every note you speak onto a candle, the moment it happens.

Not what happened. What you did, when, and what you said you were thinking.

Practice and live are the same cockpit. Drill the plan on real days, twenty trades before a dollar is at risk. Then go live with nothing changed but the account.

No separate simulator. No second version of the plan to fall back on.

1

Drill

Real days, bar by bar, on the sim book. Graded and recorded like live.

Gate: none. Drill as long as you like.
2

Prove

Twenty trades of the plan. R, grades and every stop you moved, in one view.

Gate: a record before your money.
3

Trade

Same cockpit, live account. Project X first, more brokers to come.

Gate: the ladder, every day, before the first click.

It is not a journal.

A journal hears about your trades afterwards. monty is where they are taken.

A trade journal
monty
Imports the trades after the session.
Is the desk the trades were taken on.
Shows what happened.
Shows what you did, and why you said you did it.
Can stop nothing.
Can refuse the trade that does not fit.
Sees the entry and the exit.
Sees every time you touched the stop in between.
Review is a habit you have to keep.
Review is built into the loop.

You cannot shape behaviour from on top of someone else's chart.

monty started as an add-on over TradingView. An add-on can watch. It cannot refuse. So monty became the whole desk.

The charting is TradingView's own open-source engine, so it is the charting you already know. The chat, the feeds and the options built for someone else stayed behind.

Questions.

Is this a journal?

No. A journal hears about your trades afterwards. monty is where they are taken, so it can refuse one and record every move.

Why fewer options? I like my settings.

Options are where plans die. monty keeps the ones that make you consistent.

Does monty ever place a trade by itself?

Never. Entries come from your click. The ladder can refuse one. Exits are never blocked.

Do I need a broker connected?

Not for practice. For live, a Project X account. Keep your hard daily loss limit at the broker too.

Where does it run?

In the browser at montytrading.com, or the desktop app for Mac and Windows.

What happens after the trial?

You are charged only when it ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
